A show of mixed-media works by Tijuana-born UCSD open studio artist Omar Pimienta. The exhibition will explore memory from specific translation processes: from one language to another, image to text, concept to object. Featuring a large photo-assemblage of images taken during Pimienta's many passings through the U.S.-Mexico border, the exhibition will invite viewers to play an active role as they peel away photos one by one from the wall. A time lapse camera will document the comings and goings of visitors.
