A 2017 San Diego Music Awards winner, Marie Haddad has a voice that, according to North County Times, “can hold our attention whatever she is singing. Her songwriting and piano style has been described as “somewhere between Kate Bush and Leonard Cohen” (SD Downtown News). She tours nationally, her music has been featured on TV and in independent films, and she is busy creating videos and recording.
Singer-songwriter Laurie McClain accompanies herself on guitar, ukulele, and harmonica. Her songs have powerful lyrics that send messages of hope. Laurie landed her first paying gig at 17, in Lincoln, Nebraska, covering songs by Hank Williams, Neil Young, and Kate Wolf, among others. Her recordings include the 2014 Live at the Purple Moon 1995, featuring her songs along with covers, such as Cohen’s “Suzanne,” and an a capella Shaker song.
