September 23–November 11 (8 Weeks, 24 Total Hours of Instruction)

Online

$295/315 (Includes Model One Day)

We are pleased to offer this class online using Zoom video conferencing. This mimics, as closely as possible, what normally happens in our classrooms at the Athenaeum. In this time when many of us are experiencing anxiety and isolation, this format allows us to continue to provide enriching experiences of artistic growth and community building.

The technology to make this happen is quite simple. You only need a computer (phone or tablet) with a camera, microphone, and internet connection and we are here to help you should you experience any technical difficulties.

Once you register, look for an email with more information and detailed instructions in the week preceding the class start date.

Stay safe and be well! And thank you for your continued support of our school.

MATERIALS: Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens, waterproof, black. There’s a pack of four that has nib sizes superfine, fine, medium, and brush. (Note: Be sure it is not the four-pack that has thick pens used for calligraphy.) One 9" x 12" watercolor pad, from 90 lb. to 140 lb. is good.

Watercolor: If you have watercolors, just use what you have. If you want to buy some, you can get the Prang-brand, 16-standard-color set or splurge and get a travel Winsor & Newton set, with professional colors. The sets usually come with a brush. I recommend you get an additional brush (round #6 or 8) and a square wash brush (1/2"). If you have tubes of paint, be sure to set up your palette before class. Set up a water container before class. Feel free to set up any pens or paper you would like to try. If you would like to get a travel water brush, Niji is the best brand.
