This is a class in abstracting what we see and know. The class includes looking at real life or photo images as subjects to find patterns, textures, and negative spaces. Color then becomes our expression. We will do a few short exercises before committing to larger canvases.
We will look at master artists’ work such as Matisse, Diebenkorn for guidance.
Interesting and innovative tools and techniques will be explored.
MATERIALS: The materials fee of $45 includes use of GOLDEN products; additives, papers; smaller canvases; images; a variety of innovative tools.
Materials Must BRING: acrylic paints; brushes (I use and recommend: Silver Silk 88, Ruby Satin and/or Bristlon line of brushes by Silver Brush Ltd); canvases (whatever size you feel comfortable bringing); palette paper 12" x 16”; markers, index cards for sketches, drawing materials; paper towels, water can.
Optional: 2” color shaper, squeegee or paint scraper; straight edge, latex gloves; apron; sandpaper; paint sticks.
Immediately after you register, look for a confirmation email and receipt. In the week preceding the class start date, you will receive another email with more details.
