The Found Object Assemblage course is intended to introduce students to notable assemblage artists and methods of creating assemblage with found objects and recycled materials. The class will meet for three hours once a week covering a new artist every time and creating individual assemblage pieces in the method of that artist. Students will be provided with basic materials and recycled materials for assembling the works. They will also be encouraged to bring their own found objects and materials meaningful to them to create their work.

While classes are meant to be informative and productive with lecture and studio time, we will dedicate the end of each class for group critique and discussion. This is intended to encourage more conceptual work and develop the personal meaning to the artwork being created.

Students of all experience levels and backgrounds are encouraged to enroll.

MATERIALS: Materials will be provided with the materials fee. Students will also bring their own found objects.
