Explore the magic of gelli plate printing and create unique papers and collage artworks over this two-day workshop. On Day 1 you'll learn the basics of gelli plate printing, experimenting with a variety of paints, textures, and techniques to develop a collection of vibrant, patterned papers. Botanical printing will be explored as well. On Day 2, you'll create a few added layers on the previously printed papers and then begin to build collage compositions. Discover how to combine colors, shapes, and textures to tell a visual story. We'll cover collage assembly, composition, and finishing techniques to take your artwork to the next level.
This class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced artists looking to expand their mixed-media skills. All materials will be provided, including gelli plates, paints, mark-making tools, collage adhesive, and substrates. Come prepared to get creative, play, and have fun!
