(1 day, 6 total hours of instruction)
AAC Print Room
$100/120 + $7 materials fee paid to instructor
Take a day to fold, cut, and turn to create a variety of artists’ books structures from just one piece of paper! Many of the structures we will create borrow from origami folds and techniques. Some books will be blank prototypes; others will incorporate short writing or content-oriented exercise. We’ll even make mini prints to share to produce a multi-edition collaborative book. You will leave the workshop with the completed books and, for the more complicated structures, printed instructions, as well as some layout possibilities for printing content on the computer (prior to folding) so you can create your own version of these artists’ books.
Materials: Required: Cutting knife & extra blades, metal ruler, stylus for scoring (ball-point tracing stylus, 1.5–2 mm is ideal), sharp pencils, eraser (pink pearl is good), bone folder, scissors, glue (UHU glue stick or a small container of PVA & brush).
Recommended: 2" x 12" C-thru plastic centering ruler, bench hook with small cutting mat, if you have one. Additional materials will be provided to create the structures with the materials fee.
Immediately after you register, look for a confirmation email and receipt. In the week preceding the class start date, you will receive another email with more details.
