Abstract art, also referred to as non-objective or non-representational art, uses the visual language of shape, form, color, and line to create compositions that can exist independently from literal visual references.
In this workshop the emphasis is on the creative process and the exploration of unknown possibilities rather than focusing solely on the outcome. We will create non-representational imagery using a variety of mark-making tools, paint, and other materials. These initial works will then be deconstructed, rearranged, and reassembled to create compelling and dynamic compositions.
Through this process of making, breaking apart, and reinterpreting, we will embrace the unexpected and discover the inherent abstract qualities that emerge in the moment. This workshop encourages experimentation, play, and a willingness to let the artwork evolve through each stage of the process.
