If you’ve never made an artists’ book, come learn the basics. Even if you’ve made artists’ books before, this class will strengthen your skills and expand your familiarity with the possibilities for making accordion books. While exploring the basic practices, we will consider alternate ways to connect pages and fun ways to use those techniques. In addition to the standard structures, we will construct some less common ones, and produce some unique forms, including a book in a box and a book nestled into a miniature chair, among others
MATERIALS: Essential: Bone folder, glue (glue stick is fine or PVA & small brush), X-acto knife, sharp pencil & eraser, scissors, ruler.
Optional: Bench hook with small cutting mat, stylus for scoring (you can also use your bone folder), centering ruler.
Immediately after you register, look for a confirmation email and receipt. In the week preceding the class start date, you will receive another email with more details.
