Join us for a hands-on, two-day workshop exploring book arts through creative structures and surface design. In Three Books & a Box, you’ll learn to construct three unique artist books while experimenting with a variety of mixed-media techniques.

We’ll begin with Heidi Kyle’s elegant and versatile pocket accordion-fold structure, followed by Julie Leonard’s foundational stiff-leaf binding. You’ll also create a classic sewn signature, building essential bookbinding skills along the way. To complete your collection, you’ll design and assemble a simple handmade box to house one of your books.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll develop rich, personalized content using collage, paste paper, stencils, inks, and even a typewriter for added texture and narrative. All materials will be provided, pre-cut, and ready for you to dive right into creating.

This class is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike. Come explore structure, storytelling, and surface in an inspiring, supportive environment.

Materials: $15 materials fee paid to Sibyl. Please bring an X-Aacto knife and bone folder if you have them.
