Step into the world of small-scale storytelling as we transform simple tin boxes into intimate works of art. In this workshop, you will create a collage/assemblage inside a small tin container, using a variety of vintage and contemporary papers, found objects, and mixed media. We will explore composition, layering, and the art of creating meaning within a small space. Basic materials will be included in the materials fee, but you are welcome to bring personal treasures or ephemera to make your piece even more unique. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity and a love of making.

Materials: Materials provided with the $20 materials to be paid to instructor at the first class: Includes: small metal tin (empty, hinged lid, one per participant).  A variety of adhesives, a collection of  papers: book pages, magazines, maps, decorative papers, patterned scraps,  an assortment of small found objects will be provided, but you may want to bring personal items.

Student should bring: scissors, X-Acto knife, cutting mat, a few acrylic paints, fine-tip pens, markers (optional for detail work). Bring your own personal photos, letters, or small keepsakes; tiny natural items (pressed flowers, leaves, feathers); ephemera or small objects with personal meaning. They should fit inside an altoids size tin.
