Experimenting with various mediums and techniques, we will transform ordinary paper into paper with unique designs. Start the morning creating multiple sheets of “paste paper.” Students will experiment with beautiful colors and layered patterns. As time allows, we will explore other processes that are low-tech enough to reproduce at home. It will be a fun way to practice different methods, utilize various inks, paints, and dyes, and play with color. Papers, paint, and ink will be provided to create the embellished papers.
Materials: Optional: You may bring any paper that you would like to embellish. All other papers, pattern-making tools, paints, and inks will be provided.
