Sharon Hinckley developed an interest in art at a young age. She did a large mural in crayon on the living room wall at the age of four and was sent to bed without her supper. Fortunately, most of the critics have been kinder since then, and she kept right on painting. Watercolor is her chosen medium. She has had more than 50 solo exhibitions, including at the Rosicrucian Museum in San Jose, California, and the National Museum of History in Taipei, Taiwan. She has authored a book on watercolor painting, Watercolor Basics: Painting Flowers.
