‘Silverado Close-up’: New Murals of La Jolla work invites perspective

The new image by Yunhee Min on an inaugural Murals of La Jolla site is an abstraction of the La Jolla landscape.
Six days, two new murals, two new sites: Murals of La Jolla, a project of the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, has been busy pursuing enhancement of La Jolla’s outdoor spaces through public art. Its latest commission: “Silverado Close-up” by Los Angeles-based artist Yunhee Min, installed Sept 2 at 1031 Silverado St.
Min’s mural features large swaths of color and abstract nature meant to evoke the sky, ocean and “the incredible quality of light we have here,” said Murals of La Jolla Executive Director Taylor Chapin.
