In this one-day workshop, students will learn the drum-leaf book structure and variations. This adhesive binding structure is perfect for printmakers, photographers, and artists of all levels who want to present visual narratives on medium to heavy paper with no sewing thread or gutters to interrupt the flow of text and imagery. Drum-leaf books are made of single-sided folios, where each folio is a spread, so imposition is not needed when laying out images and text. This binding creates a book that opens flat and has imagery flowing uninterrupted over the center of the spreads and is an excellent structure for small editions.

Materials: All materials are provided with the materials fee paid to the instructor. Additionally, bring a bone folder if you have one. Bring a bagged lunch or get tacos at the taco truck down the street.
