Book Sale

Athenaeum Library Book Sale

Book and Craft Sale

Saturday, March 18

10 AM-4 PM

Join us for our fun book sale on the Athenaeum patio on March 18. We will have hundreds of CDs, some LPs, and a thousand books for sale, many of them related to art. Inside our Music Room, we will have rare and special books; so be sure to check inside. Once inside also check out the wonderful paintings and one-of-a-kind cards by longtime member and volunteer Sue Whitman. Don’t miss an always delightful event—a chance to mull over many formerly cherished sources of entertainment.

Donating Books

The Athenaeum accepts donations of gently used—or new—books of most genres, as well as CDs, DVDs, and jazz LPs, to be sold at our quarterly book sales. (A smaller selection is available during library hours year-round.) We do not accept donations of periodicals, text books, VHS, or non-jazz LPs. Any soiled or damaged books will not be accepted. We are also searching for more volunteers to help sort and price books and work the sales. Donations are taken on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or on other days by special arrangement). We appreciate donations of ten or more books to be delivered in bags or boxes. Please contact assistant librarian Carol Buckley at (858) 454-5872 or cbuckley@ljathenaeum.org to make arrangements for a donation.
