Monday–Friday, 1–3:30 PM
July 29–August 2
(5 Days, 12.5 total hours of instruction)
La Jolla Studio
$200/220 + $20 materials fee

Over the course of the week, students will engage with a variety of styles and techniques to create their own world of flowers. We will look at a handful of different artists and cultures to study and discuss the vast ways something as seemingly simple as a flower can be depicted. Each day we will focus on a different artist or style and use our findings to create our own versions of flowers following their example. Students will be encouraged to put their own personal, creative twist on their work. For example, one day we will look at the rich history of flowers and their symbolism in Mexico, from painted frescos to paper flower bouquets. Each day we will engage with a variety of materials to allow children to explore the possibilities different different tools allow for.
