Nationally recognized sculptor Ellen Phillips created a site-specific installation reflecting the essence of the library’s atmosphere and members. An instructor at both San Diego State University and Mesa College, Phillips was awarded the commission for her proposal Light Passage in San Diego’s City Gates Public Sculpture Competition.
