Also titled Singing Machines, the installation incorporates sound, light and interactivity, encouraging visitors to manipulate, move, and spin elements in order to investigate the workings and the relationships between sound, substance and image. Skalman holds a BA in visual art from Point Loma Nazarene and an MFA from San Diego State University; he is a member of the faculty at the Athenaeum’s School of the Arts.
