Wick Alexander presents a recent series of drawings, each depicting images of currency from around the world, based on a book by Dutch designer Paul Schuitema, entitled Syst-O-Color. Alexander also presents an installation, Walking Inside a Painting. The San Diego native has received awards for his drawings, sculptures and public artworks from the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, and the Ford Foundation. The painting Dulzura, from Plein Aire Noire Series, 2016, was purchased with funds from the Art Committee: Athenaeum Permanent Collection 2018.02.
