France-Marie Haeger has an extensive and successful career teaching art and art appreciation in undergraduate and graduate programs in the Switzerland and the United States, including Palomar College, MiraCosta College, the Osher program at Cal State San Marcos. She helped design the Art and the Creative Process Certificate Program at UCSD Extension, where she acts as an advisor and faculty member. She has taught at the Athenaeum School of the Arts for more than 20 years.

 

A registered art therapist (ATR), Haeger helped create two Expressive Arts Therapy programs in San Diego and designed and launched an art therapy program in Lausanne, her native city, where she acted as director, coordinator, supervisor, and core faculty over a period of 28 years. This full-fledged program established a new profession in French-speaking Switzerland.

 

An exhibiting artist, she loves portraiture especially, because it gives her the chance to offer to her subject the rare experience to be truly seen as she seeks to capture their essential nature. Her portraits have touched many people.
