San Diego-based artist Kathy Miller’s interest lies in the relationship of alphabet, word, image and knowledge, and the power of language to communicate and define cultures. Working in mixed media, many of her dimensional pieces reflect an Asian influence and often display opposing forces at work, such as hardness/softness, symbols/concepts and freedom/confinement.
