Scripps College Press was founded in 1941 as an experimental typographic laboratory. In 1986, Katty Maryatt became director of the press and instituted a new program of collaborative class books. At this date, 40 books have been produced by Maryatt and her students. The Athenaeum presented the 11 Scripps College Press books in its collection.
