DAVID ADEY

John Henry

February 27–April 3, 2010

For the title piece in this show, the artist presents a structural installation composed of books and wood, forming two bridges that span the entire gallery. Two works from 2008 make use of covers from People magazine with skin images “isolated and dissected with craft-punches and reassembled with pins on foam.” The Post-Modern Prometheus is a 1932 edition of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, die-cut with a glue gun. The fifth work is the pen on paper Horse Pile. Adey holds a BA in Visual Art (1994) from Point Loma Nazarene University and an MFA in Sculpture (2002) from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
