MARY ELLEN LONG

Roots

September 21–November 2, 2013

Mary Ellen Long collected the roots of trees on the property of her home and studio in Colorado. She wrapped them in handmade paper and dipped them in sumi ink. The installations, sculptures, drawings, and artist’s books in the exhibition evolved from her work with these roots. The artist holds a BA and an MA in printmaking and painting from San Diego State University.
